Another Alabama man has been arrested on charges connected to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Kaleb Dillard, 26, of Columbiana was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of assaulting, resisting or impeding law enforcement officers and interfering with a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder.
Court documents show that Dillard approached one officer from behind and threw him to the ground, and also made physical contact with another officer while inside the Capitol.
According to the documents, investigators were able to identify Dillard thanks to tips about photos and stories posted to his Instagram page.
“Dillard stated he was at the Capitol to strike fear into the politicians,’’ the documents state.
Investigators found one Instagram message in which someone sent a photo to Dillard that had been taken from a new site and asked “Is that you??” Dillard replied, “Sure is hehe.”
Dillard is one of a bout a dozen Alabamians so far to be charged in connection to the insurrection.
